The Australian Lebanese Association started to be
established in Australia from 1947 with branches in New
South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia,
Canberra, and one branch in New Zealand. On request by
the Lebanese Government, in 1959 the World Lebanese
Cultural Union (WLCU) was established. At this time, all
the Associations became a chapter of the WLCU, under the
Geographical Region Council (GRC) for Australia and New
Zealand.
